The underground subway - is the fastest and most efficient means of transport in Prague.
The same tickets are valid on the metro, trams and city buses. They are available at hotel reception desks, newsstands and from vending machines at the metro stations.Ticket for CZK 24 is valid for 30 mins and ticket for CZK 32 is valid for 90 mins. Travel passes (1 day and 3 days) are available at the City Transport Authority outlets (e.g. the Mustek Metro station).
When using a taxi hire hotel cabs or call a radio taxi. To be on the safe side fix the fare before getting in the car or ask the bellman or waiter to set the fare in advance to avoid a possible misunderstanding later.
From the airport to the hotel by taxi the fare can vary between CZK 500 - 900 depending on the distance traveled. Airport Express Bus with floating departure intervals has a terminus at the Main Train Station in downtown Prague and the fare is approx. CZK 60 per person per one-way ticket. This bus runs daily from 5:30 a.m. till 10 p.m. with interval which may vary between 15 and 30 minutes. Travel time is typically 30 to 45 minutes (depending on the traffic).
Important Note: Standard Prague public transport tickets cannot be used in the AE bus line.
Regular city bus operates from the airport to the nearest metro stations, Nádraží Veleslavín (journey takes approx. 15 minutes) and Zličín (journey takes approx. 15 minutes).
